IRON MAN (the heart)
thesis - providing a strong, concise, and general foundation for artists creates space for creative and individual voices to grow. not everyone has the natural ability to juggle 100 thoughts at once, my time in unemployment basically gave me time to think about everything ive never been able to before. i documented everything, and ALLEYWAY has become the petri dish. the salon requires a renter to bring only their tools and clients, everything else is thought of for them.
-
CAPTAIN AMERICA (culture)
the second part underneath this is the desire to have a culture that properly reflects the soul of the industry. for hair- this means create an open, welcoming environment that allows room for change. have the room reflect the way we feel in the chair and connect with one another. this means space for longer appointments, autonomy of ones schedule, and clear roles rather than hierarchy. and most important, space, i could have five stations here, but three reflects my motives.
-
BLACK WIDOW (stewardship)
ive always been of the belief a clean room creates a free mind. now spray that in every corner of a business. clean infrastructure, clear systems, consistency. if you aren’t thinking from every angle the hose can kink. in order for all areas of a business to run smoothely you must give all aspects of said business an equal amount of care
-
HULK (physical infrastructure)
the room is a hair salon, but i try to think about it as if it were anything but. interior design was one part of the whole, but how the space carries the energy of the people in it is what i care about the most.

SPIDERMAN (artist development)
literally spiderman to ironman. walk the path yourself and then love someone enough to want to take away all the guessing you had to do while still creating space for individuality and autonomy
